What do you love most about being part of the Young Leaders Board?

The friendships that have been formed. I have lots of ‘industry friends’ but the people on the board of the YLG have become friends outside of work.

Our Story

In December 1976, a bold idea took root: private fleet operators across Canada deserved a unified voice. For too long, while for-hire carriers had a seat at the table with government and regulators, private trucking operations, the quiet backbone of Canadian industry, had none. That year, the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) was born.

The 2026 Private Motor Truck Council of Canada Awards Program is now open for entries. Each year the PMTC teams with member companies to celebrate the Best in Trucking through the presentation of awards that recognize excellence in trucking.
