On September 11, the Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario (TTSAO) held a Transportation Industry Roundtable at the Centre for Health and Safety Innovation in Mississauga, Ontario. 

The meeting was facilitated by TTSAO Director and TTSAO Insurance Group Chairperson Lisa Arseneau of Staebler Insurance along with TTSAO President Kim Richardson. The meeting was designed to provide an update of the TTSAO Pre-Qualification and Re-Qualification Program for both new and existing member schools which launched earlier this year. The auditing and oversight of educational institutions was designed by the TTSAO Insurance Group and is an important component to road safety.

The invitation only meeting consisted of TTSAO Member Schools, Government Representation, Insurance and other Industry Stakeholders. Also, in attendance were some of the TTSAO Insurance Group subject matter experts (SME) who have completed both qualification and re-qualifications or schools. Theses SME’s shared their experiences and provided feedback on the process.

When asked about the meeting Lisa Arseneau said, “It was encouraging to see such a cross-section of sectors from our industry in the same room, discussing this industry hot topic. The TTSAO Board of Directors and the TTSAO Insurance Group look forward to continuing the discussion on this important initiative.”

The TTSAO Insurance Group is in the process of putting together a summary document to share with the stakeholders that attended the meeting.
