Mack Trucks demonstrated the fuel efficiency and uptime benefits customers demand with two Mack Anthem® models that were on display during the Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting March 17-21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Both Anthem models feature the Mack® MP®8HE engine with Mack Energy Recovery Technology, which captures otherwise wasted heat from the exhaust and converts it into energy fed back into the crankshaft. The extra torque allows the MP8HE to operate at lower RPMs to save fuel without sacrificing performance.

Each Anthem also comes with Mack GuardDog® Connect, the proactive telematics solution that maximizes uptime by automatically monitoring a truck’s performance. If a potential problem is detected, GuardDog Connect alerts Mack OneCall® uptime agents who quickly diagnose the issue. If a repair is needed, the OneCall agent provides directions to the nearest dealer with available parts, as well as repair instructions, all while the truck is still on the road.

GuardDog Connect is also the enabling technology for Mack ‘Over The Air,’ which allows users to update truck software and parameters when it’s convenient for  them. As well, customers whose applications require frequent parameter changes (road speed limits, idle time, etc.) can order Mack’s Parameter Plus package and bundle 50 parameter changes per truck, per year.
